About Us

It all started back in 1975 when Dave SR and his brother, Tom, founded Vanderhyde Brothers Ford in Cedar Springs, MI. This was the start of the family’s automotive journey and after 23 successful years, Dave and his brother Tom sold the dealership to its current owner in 1998. 

Fast forward to 2001, Dave Sr and his son Dave Jr (aka Davey) purchased Mac Chevrolet Pontiac Buick and renamed it SPARTA CHEVROLET. For the past 25 years, Sparta Chevrolet has been the only dealership owned and operated by the Vanderhydes. There are currently 3 generations operating the store to ensure your satisfaction, Dave Sr, Dave Jr, Chad, Cody, Connor, and soon to be the 4th generation Carter, Connor's son.
